Male plant confirmation..

Hey everyone, i was having a great day till i noticed that my plant had these round pods attached from a small stem. Now i think i am in denial, becuase i pretty much know what that means. Its a feminized white widow auto flower, but i had accidentally broke the tip of the taproot when i was germinating. I put in the soil and hoped for the best, and to my surpise it started growing quite fast. It first poked out the soil august 28th, and two weeks later the fith set of true leaves were growing. Which brings us to today. Take a look at the pics and please tell me your guys opinions. Should i let it grow a bit longer to be 1000% sure, or should i close tge curtains on it?orca-image-1505412482770.jpg_1505412482866.jpeg orca-image-1505413241327.jpg_1505413241432.jpeg

It does look like it, but maybe it's not pure male and just had that one pod, or could be herm like you said. I would wait and see for sure. Some companies just aren't that good at producing fem seeds. Or they may have sent regular auto seeds instead of fem, either by mistake or on purpose. That would sure piss me off if it was my only plant though.

Well i did damage the taproot, you think that could have stressed it enough to turn male?

Hey, if there's not a lot of them, pick them off. I had a plant grow some pollen sacs, don't know why, and I pulled the pollen sacs off. She then gave me some beautiful buds!!

Only had two. Plant is just two weeks and some change. But are you serious??? No seeds in the bud?

And also,

Is that even possible though? Can a plant that grows male pods turn female without herming?
that is a genetic female plant expressing a hormonal response , not a male expressing female parts imo, all things are possible, grow it out and watch closely, or start over.

or maybe its not a feminized female at all? any signs of fem in it it yet?

Yes, no seeds in the bud. I believe I picked off around 20 pollen sacs. I was out there daily checking and removing sacs!!

Did you see pollen sacs before pistils? And if so, how long did the sacs keep growing until you seen pistils?

Hmmm, good question. Don't really remember, but if I dig really deep into my grey matter I would have to say yes. The sacs were before the pistils, and don't remember how long they were on there for. If I were you I would check the plant daily to see if anymore show up. If they do, pull them. But if they start showing up like they would on a regular male, then it's decision time for you!!!

Your welcome!! Try your hand at makin your own seeds. It's really quite easy!! I pollinated an auto last year with a bagseed male and got about 290 seeds. This year I popped 4 of those seeds, that I called "OO", and got 3 females. A little training with the 3 different plants to see which one gives me the most bud. And the winner was the one that I topped after the second node. This year I pollinated the lower couple branches of a OO, a lemon walker, Jack Herer, BC big bud, and a Maui Waui with some pollen I got for a male purple sativa that I kept separate. So far I have harvested about 75 seeds from the BC big bud and 50 from the OO. And looking at the Jack, Maui and lemon walker, I'm gonna get a bunch from them as well. Really wanna see what the Maui seeds are gonna do next year. I'm a sativa guy. Like being busy and that strain fits me perfect. Next experiment for me will be making fem seeds using colloidal silver!!!

Its funny you'd say that i was really considering it. Im actually a beginner, this is my first legit grow. But i've done alot of reading throughout different forums, and talked with the employee who was in charge of the garden center at my local head shop ( just in case you dont know thats what we torontonians in canada call our weed supply shops) and he even referred me to an amazing grow book which i bought and have been reading. I actually have one single seed from prob one of my favourite strands ever, larry og, which i had saved until i was able to purchase the necessary eqipment to properly grow it. So the question now is if its a female or a male, and if it is a female, and the plant i have ends up being a male, could i harvest the pollen sacs and use it if the seed ends up a fem?

Cool!!! I'm from BC!!! A big hello to you my fellow Canadian...

Gather as much info as you can, digest it, and use it to suit your situation!!!

What's the book called you purchased?

Yes, if the plant you have turns out to be male then you can harvest the pollen. Make sure you keep it separate from your others. You can use the pollen to create seeds from the others you started on the 31st, if you get a female of course. And if the Larry OG turns out to be a female, then you can use the pollen to create your own seeds there as well!! The pollen does have a shelf life and the sooner you use it the better. I made up 4 different tin foil packages with the purple sativa pollen. That way I didn't have to rehydrate it all at the same time and re-freeze what I didn't use. I tried pollinating with some Medicine Man pollen I collected last year, but it lost its potency and didn't work.

Any questions, ask away!!!

To you as well, BC is a legend over here for good weed! The book is called marijuana horticulture the indoor/outdoor medical grower bible by jorge cervantes. Great read with lots of color pictures. Deff recommend if you haven't read it already. I really appreciate all your help, if i do end up getting males i'll keep in mind what you told me. Il keep in touch with you and let you know how everything goes!
