Trump states "Both sides are to blame" for Charlottesville

How can the actions of a few hundred neo Nazis in a country of 280 million people even be portrayed as worrisome. I am happy to see the lack of participation by members of the Nazis movement, even when the leaders of these groups are present. Goes to show how weak these groups really are. Our corporate owned government and corporate owned media are beating us like a drum to distract and divide us. A two party political system that is the very definition of polarization has done this for decades. Quit playing the two party dog and pony show if representation for broader swaths of the population is the goal.
Not sure if you've heard of Adolf Hitler but he started off with a few supporters. Those few grew until they became large enough in number to take over the country. From small beginnings.......

The American nazi party has been around for about a hundred years. I'm sorry that you have such a lack of confidence in your fellow Americans to be able to reject nazi philosophy outright. I'm not glorifying anything, just pointing out the irrational over reaction to a handful of nazi knuckleheads. The nazi party has never gained any political traction in the US. Every time the nazi idiots crawl out from under a rock they are soundly rejected. Just give them some rope (public exposure) and they hang themselves every time.

Just to correct you - although you weren't to know - I'm not American.
When from the past 100 years though has there been a US President that has emboldened the nazi's? That's the big difference. None of the Presidents that have been in the job since I was born (1960's) have made statements that seem to give succour to nazi's. None have been so clearly right-wing. None have been as much as a "Loose cannon" as Trump is.

It's not that the nazi's in themselves are more dangerous now, it's that the political environment is allowing them to be more vocal and confident.

Why are we seeing more Nazis and KKK on the streets now? Funding.

This is brilliant, and insightful.

Not to worry Stoner I'm 61 years old and I've lived through this sort of nonsense many times before. The political environment in this country is generated by a two party political system that tries to have the population standing on either side of a police line spitting in each other's face. Nothing new about that. Unfortunately the US is evolving into a prison run by corporate interests only. The ballot box has been rendered useless by two parties that basically represent no one but greedy psychopaths. Next up is civil disobedience but the corporatists are trying to make us distrust each other based on our differences, which is sad because we have many common goals. Insurance companies, national banks, the war economy....those folks are a HUGE problem.

It's basically the same situation in this country.
Politicians are supposed to be enablers of change but they have become the barriers instead.

There is never anything irrational about preventing Nazis, KKK and alt right from marching for the right to suppress the rights of minorities. Wasn't an over reaction either. What the children of Charlottesville saw was Nazis being opposed and defeated. This is a good thing.

You're barking at the wrong guy.

Social justice isn't important to you, is it?

The people of Charlottesville should have just cowered and held hands in protest safely away from marches through the streets made by jack booted bigots who hurled racist and bigoted slurs at the crowds. African Americans can be treated to images from the past by watching white supremacists march with the same flag under which 6 million jews were slaughtered along with armed men wearing KKK regalia associated with a murderous past. Their message was not protest but one of hatred and suppression of minorities. It had nothing to do with free speech either. Their objective is to suppress speech, not freedom.

Let the children of Charlottesville feel the fear of past generations due to depredations made by similar men in the past. So you say. Oh and let me add in one of your "Democrats bad!!!!!!!!!" while I'm at it.

This was not a protest march, it was a show of force by the white nationalist movement. The actions of Antifa to deny them safe access to the streets of a multicultural city was just and correct.

Cafeteria liberal. Wants what he wants and fuck the rest.

Look man, I don't want to argue with you. I don't really fuckin care.

http://aclu-co.org/wp-content/uploads/files/ACLU Summary Judgment Brief.pdf

the court ruled what you are describing unconstitutional
The case appears to have been settled in appeals, you got a link to a judgement?

1000 officers not being able to stop this riot from happening may impact how the next judge looks at the issue. Just for political gains alone most mayors would be smart to not issue permits to these creeps. Take it to court all day long if needed.

subtly trying to pin the blame on government bureaucrats who issue permits rather than the nazis who plowed their cars into people.

i see you, nazi apologist. i see you.

Well said. What do you see as a path out of the mess we're in?
