Planning 24f/12v room, would like help brainstorming...

SOG, ScrOG, or trees?

Hello, I'm currently in the beginning stages of planning my first room and would like some different suggestions as to how I can go about this. I've been thinking it through and lurking around these forums for about 3 months now and I have about half a year's worth of experience working with plants that weren't my own but this will be the first time caring for my own garden. High quality (not quantity) harvests are my main objective, with deepening my knowledge in this field following as a close second...

The gardens I have helped with have been HPS/ScrOG style so I'm not sure if SOG or tree style would be more suited to my space, but I do know I'd like to start out with LED lights. The flower room will contain 24 total and the veg room will contain half that. My total amount of space to work with is 24' x 35 x 7' (W*L*H). Aside from a 3x3 chimney in the middle it's a wide open space.The beans I'm looking at getting are all at thebcsc.com ... "N.L. #5", "Afghani Kush" & "Afghaan Dream". Obviously plan on popping regular beans and choosing clone mothers. Been eyeballing the KIND LED series in particular the XL1000's to be the main light fixtures for the setup. Am I playing with enough room to have a nice tree setup or would I be able to have a better time with SOG/ScrOG?

Don't waste your money on KIND would be my first tip. 7 foot ceilings, you'd probably be best served with a ScrOG, but it depends on your light. If you're doing LED, it's best to spread your canopy as much as possible. How do you feel about tent growing?

Never considered it... would I need multiple tents? The floors/walls ect themselves are smooth concrete and will be easy to white out and good light reflectivity off of.

I mean, I would. I'd be running a veg and flower environment, I aim to have my flower room running 365. Now, that's not reality, but it's my goal, and with good planning, you can make it a reality. I only use tent for my veg, currently, but am considering doing the same, framing out an area and using plastic. There's nothing wrong with going that route.

Gotcha... what exactly would be the benefit(s) of utilizing an all tent system vs putting up separate walls and making individual rooms besides the obvious ease of use?

The kind led's work great, not real sure y the other guy said he would not waist his money on them. I run the 750's and they work great.

Yes i used hids before. I don't use the sunrise/sunset mode, all u would be doing there is not giving them 100% light when u could be in my opinion.

Makes sense. The different modes are a cool idea in theory... makes it seem kinda gimmicky now that you put it that way though lol. How have you been feeling about the results since you switched?

I like them. Get way better root system, fatter stocks, and denser buds. As well as the internods stay closer together.
