SOG using LED w/ Limited Height

I'm currently building a grow space that is 3x3, but the height is limited. At most I will have 4 feet of height. Would doing a SOG using an LED be feasible in this space?

The lights I'm looking at are:
CX-4: http://johnsongrowlights.com/index.php?id_product=11&controller=product
CX-6: http://johnsongrowlights.com/index.php?id_product=10&controller=product
GoGreen: http://www.gogreenleds.com/store/p2/200W_4_COB_CXB3070_Grow_Light.html
GoGreen: http://www.gogreenleds.com/store/p3/300W_6_COB_Cree_CXB3070_Grow_Light.html

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I grow in a restricted space and I wouldnt recommend cobs.. Better off with a standard 3w led array that you can run close to the plants if needed Imo.

Do you have a 3w LED array that you'd recommend? I may know what you're talking about, but I'm not familiar with the terminology.

If cost is a major issue... Any of the cheap Mars lights will work, you get what you pay for with those... Steer clear of kind or platinum led... Overpriced for what you get.

Thank you. Cost isn't a major issue. I'm familiar with the good and bad about MarsHydro. I'm open to suggestions of better quality stuff to use, but saving money never hurt as long as I don't grow a bunch of popcorn. Sorry, last question to you. Using a 3w LED array, how close do you think I could have the light to the canopy?

I've ran my leds within 8 inches . could probably get closer with a Mars I've heard people running them at 6.

I use an at200 by apache tech and love the hell out of it.

suggest not getting those Johnsongrowlights. they are using cree CXAs which are cheaper and less efficient than the CXBs. The good johnsongrowlights are the bigger ones with the cree CXBs, not really suitable for close canopy lighting.

I suggest looking at the nextlight, fluence or an apache red/white for close canopy lighting. I believe you can remove some of the lenses on the at200 for wider coverage\lower height. @Greengenes707 should know.

You can use the 50 degree lenses for greater spread. Or 14 degree for a more concentrated foot print.

I totally forgot about next light, ya that's a good option as well... I think puff is having good success with those atm if I remember correctly.

I agree with Purplebuz. I would go Nextlight or
Fluence- contact them for some jumper leads which allows remote mounting of the driver control bar.
You will basically have a 1" thick light.

Go modular with a few artic 64 plus m8. That design concept for sure is providing some plasticity to your fixture if you wanna pair them with your mars lights.
Also the 64 plus base plate size is perfectly suited for the super cool incoming new mcpcb's
