Hey all,
Putting together my first grow. Will be traveling through Milwaukee in the coming weeks. Like to get soil while I'm there. Have had issues finding Foxfarm soil in my area. Does anyone know a place that carries it? I also notice that several of the amazon sellers will not ship it to Wi. Does anyone know Why?
Thanks All,
WE

my assumption is state laws on something IN said soil is not allowed to be sold in that state for some reason.

i have noticed when i moved to where i live now, some things could not be shipped here because of some american state laws.

this is just an assumption though ive never lived in WI

Yeah bugs and pathogens abound in some products its been alleged

it may go back to the 1920-1930's during the depression to keep jobs local too

as most ground fertilizers contain some element of human sewage(shit etc)

Look carefully at your local laws, you may find the fine/sentence is often higher than if caught with weed (citation needed ..lol)

this is close to one of my favorite bitches and that is

fertilizer companies not admitting the volume of human shit in their products

or

the volume, percentage of 'heavy metals' diluted from human sewage leaching into

our 'food chain' some seriously heavy shit indeed.

Consider DWC as a challenge..?

good luck

Hmm. After reading your post I went right to foxfarm's website to look up where to get it and they say it's sold in only ONE place. at a farm & Fleet in Monroe. Looks like a smaller place. Wonder why only there? Road Trip! (they are not the same since I quit drinking tho) lol.

Foxfarm is.no longer the the same quality is it once was. Now that they are big time, they cannot maintain the quality that made them popular. I would call around for a higher quality soil. Locally are best soil is called 420 another is Edna's best.

Looked at DWC really hard. Decided to start in soil and work my way from there. Used to garden a lot, but my current soil is junk (black walnuts surround my house) so Straw Bales have become my new medium. May try growing in one this summer, lol. I can def see doing DWC in the future. Just want to learn the plant more.

Never,
And these are sold in the southern Wi or northern Il? Don't suppose you know of where?
Sunni,
I am a big believer in buying local as I run a small local business as well. This is about the only time "buying local" might be the wrong way to go. Or I'm just paranoid, lol.

Yes I buy local

from the hippies down at the river they make the best organic

soil, have done now for over 50 years

I found them thru a local tomato grower

and by far much better than commercial crap

look around you will often wish you did

good luck

Of course now I'm finding listings for FF at several Farm&Fleets. Guess I should've looked more before posting. Still looking for the others suggested. I notice there are two types listed, Ocean and Frog. Given a choice which is best?

Unfortunately I Am in CA. Call a couple local garden stores and ask which they would use. Use the type suggested the most.
