Trudeau's legalization without the NDP's proposed undetermined period of continued prohibition sounds better. Decriminalization is all about turning pot smokers into ATM for the cops. Why would you not want to skip that step, instead of waiting for a politician to 'study' it? We all know how government 'study's' go. Once the police forces get used to the steady stream of money from possession fines, it is never going away. We may disagree on this issue, but I've been advocating for legalization for 35+ years and I will not settle for anything less. Whatever the result, Monday night is going to be extremely entertaining!

I a med user/grower too, so legal isn't a life changer anymore. But I was a rec user, I have many friends and family that enjoy weed and they should not be penalized for something ridiculous. I am a walking example of the damage alcohol does, yet I was never once arrested and charged for possession of booze. Prohibition is an assault on my freedom, and being a product of the 60's and 70's, my natural response is to fight for change. Just because I'm not affected, doesn't mean I don't care.

Everyone uses it for different reasons, who really cares.
If it helps you, that's what matters. Decrim is what will take money from the pockets of Canadians and send it to the ramp and gov, and legalization will keep them out of jail.
Some people can never be pleased as outlined in almost any tweed or legalization thread. It's about making it legal, nothing else.

Who was in charge when the mmar was put into place? The liberals. Who where in power when hc was forced by the Scoc to allow for dg's to grow for more then one person? That's right the liberals! I'm afraid you're wrong...but I ain't gonna convince you. I have never come across anyone that couldn't grasp the difference between legal and not legal before now. I don't get the confusion. It don't matter now because Mulcair is not gonna form government. I like legalization for recreational rather than decrim, but regardless of who gets in, medical is not gonna be affected by the election. That will be decided by the courts...in our favour. A NDP or Lib overnment would be more open to making changes at HC that favoured mmj, which would limit the need to fight every little thing in court. Go ahead and jump on me for being wrong or being a Lib schill or whatever you and the ditzy bitch want to do, but until you show me some example of decriminalization that doesn't involve fines, I'll stick with my definition. You keep believing whatever you,want. A fine is a civil penalty. The Ndp have said no civil penaltys! So I can't grasp how you think that means they will implement a fine.
