When did he say that his motive was based upon using government as a form of protectionism and to enable artificially high prices?
I don't see how an effort to incrementally legalize MJ while educating people or breaking down false ideas regarding MJ interferes with your grander scheme. I don't know why you would oppose legalizing growing ahead of legalized sales.
He attempted to defend his sales restriction / prohibition as a way to ensure present price structure, which is artificially high due to prohibition. He wanted to maintain that, using force. I'm not going to bother to go back and search for it though. You can easily if you care to.
I oppose some people running other peoples lives. Nuancing (sic) or only dong it a "little bit" by advancing laws which default to a permission based form of legalization is not something I'm interested in. I'll admit I used to feel the way you do though.
My default position isn't that permission is required from an external authority for free and peaceful people to exist or interact. It's a presumption of authority, I don't grant to others and I won't enable it, if I can prevent it.
Government needs to butt out of cannabis, period.
I'm not interested in better treatment for slaves, I'm interested in ending slavery.
