Im considering topping early. Most of my plants are developing there 3rd node now.
The plants just got switched from 24 hrs to 18/6 and will be getting flipped to 12/12 soon.
Im thinking of i top now, it might help reduce shock since they will be on 12/12 soon.
This grow has been an experiment. Using yard dirt, multiple plants in a pot, and no nutes, as well as minimal lights. My goal is to give them only whatvis needed for survival and nothing more, but at the same time i want to be sure i dont kill them.
So far they are all healthy. 9 plants, 2 of which will be moved outside to attempt to face on the subpar conditions they will face in my yard.
If i wait to long to top them, they will likely be facing even worse conditions. Competition with each other for the little nutes that may be in my dirt, and more difficulties handling the sparse lights. That added stress may put them over the edge. If i top them now, they will be very short, but can make better use of the lights later because of it.
Has anyone ever topped this early? I here people say not to, and i usually wait until 4th or 5th node.... But id like to here from someone who has actually done it....
Before people start bashing me, i just want to see photos or evidence showing me WHY its a bad idea before you tell me im an idiot for wanting to top this early
