Just growing 1 clone from a dispensary... how much ferts/nutes do you think I'll need?

I don't really want to buy a ton of ferts/nutes as I know they can get pretty expensive most of the time so I want to buy the least amount of ferts/nutes that I can and still end up with a pretty decent yield. It will only be one plant so I don't think I'll need that much. This is my first grow and might end up being my last depending on how well I do and how much my neighbors can smell.

I would tell you to start with some "Jack's Classic", it's cheap and it really works. But you need good lights, that's the expensive part!
Dang thats a lot cheaper than what I had in my budget, thanks! That money will probably go to better lights. Thinking about going LED's for the lack of heat production and the electricity cost, what do you think?

Buy a bloom formula with micro nutrients. I wouldn't use soil. get a 5 gal bucket with a plant lid and an air stone: DWC.pair that with a red /blue spectrum LED 300 watt + and you'll be happy. this light is a little bigger than that but its the setup.image1.JPG

Jack's Citrus is a better choice for MJ

I also use their Aquagold which they actually designed for finishing MJ

How big does the space in the plant lid need to be? Also, don't I need to have a bunch of water to mostly fill the 5 gallon bucket? I live in California and water isn't exactly cheap and my aunt/uncle (whom I live with) are pretty big hippies so they would hate for me to waste the water, so would I be able to do it in a smaller bucket? Could I maybe grow 2 plants out of the same bucket with one of those lids that has multiple spots or are those only for clones?

The little research I did on hydroponics said its harder for first time growers and I think I saw some water system with a spare bucket and stuff. I'll be growing in a 2x1.5x6 shed so I don't exactly have horizontal space to work with. I don't have any idea what an airstone is so could you please elaborate? Based on the name it sounds like some sort of air purifier or maybe it would soak up some of the heat in the shed to help regulate the temperature or maybe regulate humidity? I have no idea what that is. Also, what did you mean by the "DWC" after the colon following mentioning the airstone?

Lastly, since my grow space is so small, I would only do 1 or 2 plants (leaning towards 2 at the moment), would I still want a 300W + for LED's? I thought I read something that said you only need about 25W per square foot and the shed is only about 3.5 square feet so that would be 75W and since the actual wattage is about half of the advertised amount I was thinking of getting something along the lines of 150W LED's. And does the Red/Blue spectrum make any difference? I'm on a bit of a tight budget and I'm not going for the maximum amount of yield considering this is my first grow and its a very small grow.

Any advice or answers to the questions I asked would be really appreciated, thanks for the response.

Your on a tight budget and just starting out at this. See if you can get yourself through one soil grow.
make the lighting as much as you can afford to throw at it. It will have much to do with your final product.

Will the difference between 150W and 250W or 300W be that noticeable in the final product? And will it increase yield or quality. I think I read that LED's make the quality of the bud better or something like that.

I would certainly defer to your choice of "Jack's" products. The last time I used Jack's was quite a few years ago - back when it was just called "Peters 20-20-20 General Purpose". I know the Peters' Company was broken up into two seperate companies; Jack's and the original Peters. If I'm not mistaken they both sell the same product (the original "Peters 20-20-20 General Purpose"), except that Jack's calls it "Jack's Classic". The only difference is Jack's sells in "small" packages to the general public - while Peters sells it in 55 gallon drums to commercial users.

Anyway, the botton line is, I know it's good stuff - and cheap!

Yeah, don't be fooled by the cheap price, Jack's is really good shit (especially for a beginner - much better than Miracal Grow). Spend your money on lights and you're on your way!

Actually Jack broke away from Scotts who had trademarked his name and kept it after lawsuits and such and started Jack's . If you buy Peters, you are buying Scotts, which I believe is now part of Miracle Grow or Monsanto ? hell I forget, it's been awhile lol

I replace the water every 5 days.
Soil takes longer.
hydro isn't hard
Deep water culture is what DWC is. an airstone is used to oxygenate the water in the 5 gal bucket.
for a decent yield you want a larger LED. I don't know about the math your using but experience has taught me the light is half the battle in growing.
If you just wanna take a crack at it. buy a 100 watt UFO LED. they're cheap, and work.
