Sup guys, been thinking bout this question since i started smoking 12 years back. WTF is mid grade marijuana, aka regular, aka reggie, aka Bobby brown? So many nick names but no one knows the real name of the strain. Is it just very poor exotic weed? Once a specific strain becomes weak Is' it considered mid? Idk

I'm currently growing mid grade seeds I got from a bag I bought on the street. We all know the difference between mid grade and exotic (loud) by the look, smell, & texture. But when in plant form they look similar. This makes me question if they are the same. I get my mid off the streets so maybe it's just not as fresh and potent by time it gets to me. Any thoughts?

Mid grade bag seed can have the potential to be great weed when grown out.

With that being, said some factors as to why there are different grades include multiple reasons. Some that I can think of are it wasnt grown under optimal conditions (heat stress, bud rot, taken too early, light irregularities, etc.)

Another reason could be to the curing process not done properly or just down to passion ole genetics. It could be a variety of things.

On a personal note, I had a sour diesel cross that was super dank that I grew from seed in optimal conditions. I mean super dank smell and high. Once I finished her, I revegged her and took clones which were grown in very high heat cause my ac went out plus I pulled the plants earlier, and I tell you I couldn't give the shit away. I couldn't even sell it as mid. No smell whatsoever. I couldn't believe it was the same strain I smoked a couple months previously.

Then again sd and sd crosses are finicky along with many other sativa s

it also could've been the grow set up. The strain could've been thoroughly pollinated and seeded or handling from bag to bag hand to hand or from being pressed destroyed many of the trichs, however this is debatable

dking around here mids are usually an import to the area, that a name didn`t accompany it, the potency is sub par. the price usually reflects it as well.

I find some reggie from time to time with a good underlying taste, spray it for shatter.Pesticides can be a problem though. You never know if its been sprayed with some agent orange or some shit.

Boy I could right a book on this one but short and sweet, shipping and handling and not caring as much about their sacred landraces as far as cartels. If your talking seeds from mexi, if you really want diamonds and pure Sativa's and willing to wait for proper ripening, the best trees are usually grown from the worse looking junk. Mexican hybrids are easy spotted when use to seeing them and some can be dynamite. Grow em take good care of them and you may have a diamond in the ruff and one you'll never want to depart with. Best genetics come from mexico, let nobody fool you. Just got to find the one. If they are pures, pluck some leaves here and there to keep them maintained and or consider vertical if possible or and small containers. Hope you land a daisy and let us know if you do! Thanks guys, I was thinking all the same things. No dispensaries in Baltimore,MD So its hard to say where my smoke come from getting it of the street. I think It's safe to say mid is just poorly grown exotic weeds. Had me thinking mid was a strain of its own lol. That's why I'm glad I started growing. You don't know where it's coming from, or what kinda person growing the shit for you.

where I'm from we call it that

You will be surprised how strong your own weed turns out. Good luck and have fun! I have a full time job and its hard as hell to take care of 15+ flowering plants + 6 clones, imagine the big time growers who dont smoke and only growing to make money with 50+ plants. They dont really give a shit about premium quality. They know just enough to get to harvest and make the $$. Not all money making growers but most of them do this.

Yea I feel you, they don't give a shit about what we put In our lungs. Just what we put in their pockets. That's where the $$$ come in for me cause I'm thinking quality.

Might be dreaming big but I want to turn my city to the go to place for quality bud.
People will call it "Bmore bud" lol
Thanks for the luck

Man I had a girl ask me "what did you spray on it to make it so sticky" LMAO that is how shitty street weed is even if it's "loud" most of the time. Those commercial growers don't give a fuck about what they put out. It's disgusting

I know right, I told my friend I had some mid plants growing and he told me I gotta spray some shit on there to turn it into loud. I just shook my head. Lol

Basically it is...
In Mexico (and rural areas all over the USA especially the SE) there are huge pot farms where acres upon acres upon acres of cannabis is grown.
It is all about quantity over quality. It is grown half assed, it is dried out then immediately packaged and shipped away.
It is crammed into transports, it is tossed around, squashed, slammed, bumped, dropped, and every other thing you can imagine.
And when it comes to quality buds, everything matters. Every small step you take adds up with each other and eventually makes a huge difference.

Nice call on the bobby brown. Out in Illinois we called it "James Brown", cheers.

But yeah mexi weed is whatever strain that cartel decided to grow in Mexico. Mostly sativas because they flower out huge but could be all kinds.

Had the same issue with Blueberry. During the winter it serious was one of the best weeds I've ever grown but I was a newbie and summer hit. My room got in the nineties and my hydro tub water probably hit 80+. The bud didn't even look the same, smelled like hay and like you said, I literally could not give it away. I threw like 3 or 4 oz right in the garbage can.

Lesson of the story, some strains (heat=hay). Cheers.
