Ok so I may be a little crazy, maybe not russet mites. I'm guessing spider mites? But here are more photos of front and back of leaves with the magnifying glass. Believe me I'm not the type who just wants someone to agree with me. I was just asking for a little help on what to use.
Hey Potgurl, don't have any for sure advice on this, I have not had any critters for years (knock on wood) but if I did I was always planning to do a mass ladybug attack. I'm sure others will have some helpful ideas. Woody just likes you and now has a reason to send flowers.
Good luck with your lady's.
I have this stuff called doctor zymes it was expensive also a little over 400 not sure if you have heard of it. Only plants I found webbing on was when I looked inside the Af-Crack plants and a little stringy Web on a berry white.I have been through three spider mite invasions. The last one was a nightmare. I used a product called "No Spider Mite." It's very expensive! In the end I had to treat the plants three time instead of just two. They said it would wipe out the eggs on the second round, but it wouldn't kill all of them off and they would come back. The product is hard on the plants, but they do recover. The sooner you get them out of your grow the better for you and the plants! You can spray them off once a day (spray the underside of the leaves). Then I spray bleach around the plants on on my dirt floor to kill off the mites - just to keep them at bay until you get a product to kill them off. Get a product that recommends you spray at least once after initial spraying or you won't ever get rid of the eggs that mature 3 or 4 days later!
If you use lady bugs - Release them in the dark so they don't scatter to all points of the room. I had to cover the light ducting ports with wire mesh to keep them from killing themselves in the lights.
It will cost you some money to solve your problem - They look healthy enough to withstand the punishment of chemicals - Lady bugs don't hurt your plants a bit. I just didn't have good luck trying lady bugs on two attempts (they just didn't wipe em out completely.
Spider mites are a real pain in the ass.
Do you see any webbing or strands of web on the leaves? If not they ain't spider mites.
THIS is spider mites and the damage they cause.Ok so I may be a little crazy, maybe not russet mites. I'm guessing spider mites? We lost about 10 plants but most of the girls survived and are doing very well. Thanks to everyone for some good tips. The girls are into bud and looking real nice I attached some pics I took a week ago. The blue dream and bb haze have grown huge.
good to know, and it's also good to see that you took care of it, even contrary to the advice given, had I've seen the thread earlier I would have chimed in.We lost about 10 plants but most of the girls survived and are doing very well. It was hell Im not going to lie and like I said we lost some plants. But there was no way I was losing all of them. They seem to be budding good so Im just happy we caught it before it spread to all themgood to know, and it's also good to see that you took care of it, even contrary to the advice given, had I've seen the thread earlier I would have chimed in.
Sadly mites and I go back decades... luckily the russets are somewhat new, and their reproductive cycle isn't quite as gnarly as the two-spots. those fuckers procreate like rats on Viagra...
The russets are slower though
Small is relative; there could be BILLIONS of russet mites in your garden...this is def the worst ive seen regarding the amount of them!!! theres a small army of them little bastards!
