What will I do this summer?

I'm taking this on faith, but there are signs of spring - despite the record low temp here yesterday.

First there was the woodpecker. He seems to be benefitting from the emerald ash borers. Then there was talk of baseball.

This has got me thinking about summer. Soon, we will stop coming here - if we haven't already - and get on with our summer stuff.

So what are you planning this summer?

I for one, will be moving. I hate that shit. It's times like these that I have to seriously question why I have about seven thousand books. It has been many years since I have contemplated a move of over several blocks.

If I have time I will be writing a young fiction series, sell it to Hollywood and descend into a reclusive state to avoid the adoration of a generation of millenials.

That should get me through September at least.

Don't want to piss on your compost patch, but when I worked on the farm we'd leave asparagus 2 years before cutting it.

If you do cut it this year, maybe leave it after a month and let it fern up again. It'll be all the stronger next year.

Did you plant Dutch or American?

Japanese. Special hybrid to eliminate embarrassing urine smell.

Oh, ignored member. Is he behaving or something?

Not tried jap stuff. I liked the dutch as it was really chunky. Thick as your thumb at least.

The american we were told to cut after only a year in the ground and then carried on 2 weeks after the official end of season. Didnt do it any favours. But the farmer was a dick, so that sort of thing was standard malpractice.

Naw, I made that shit up because I have been ignoring mainliner. Thus your post looked like a non-sequitur.

But I will be eating asparagus tonight. Thanks, I am sure, to California's central valley. Nice tender, thin little suckers. With some lemon.

I've always though that it must be terribly frustrating to grow. I have heard of it's laggard ways.

One thing I'm excited for this summer is a canoe trip we have planned. Girlfriend and I along with a couple friends plan on being dropped off at lake Erie and over the course of a week make our way back home. Camping and fishing along the way with hopefully plenty of smoke and drink to last a week.

I'm just going to work. And get one summer closer to death. Taking the little one to Disneyworld in November though. That should be fun. She gets to see all the cool characters and see how child labor builds empires. Then back to China in January. Running out of things to try there though.
