How do I go about this?

I am looking to start a larger garden in a new grow area very soon and I will have 40 inches long 24 inches deep and 5 foot tall. I am wanting to pull AT LEAST 50-60 grams per plant and be done from seed in 90 days or less. How many plants can I have (theoretically) and how should I grow them. I am very interested in building a wicking table, but I can not find any source of reference for this type of system in terms of our plant choice. How ever this is not set in stone!

Any info would be great! thanks :)

You should be able to go 6 - 8 plants in appropriate sizes pots, HPS from seed. Soil is easiest. Why the 90 day time frame? If you veg for a couple months you'll appreciate it at harvest time.

6-8 plants in a 40" x 24" box? Really?

soil seems a lot slower then persei well any kind of hydro, if I am wrong let me know what I need for nuts to speed it up,or what size of pots your talking. Also I will have to recerculate my air HPS less then 400 is more heat then light and i am not sticking a 400 in that small of a spot. Thinking of just broad spectrum of CFL to start then after a harvest switching to include an LED, Heat is an issue.

If you're serious about the 90 day time limit, you'll have to flower from seed. Uh, why change lights after harvesting?

Faster growth on the next set... Why else? More higher quality light ...Feel like you're a troll for real.

I grow in 5qt pots in soil under 600w HPS in a 24" x 27" cabinet and can easily accomodate 3 plants...BUT....I'm also vegging and training for about 3 months first. Your plants won't get real big in a 90 day seed-to-flower grow, so at least 6 plants in 40 x 24 footprint should be easy. If you're stuck on 90 days start to end, I'd recommend 12/12 from the beginning (unless you're strain has a very short flower time). If you use fluorescents, do yourself a favor and use T5's instead of CFL's. I'd suggest a combination of Zoo Med UltraSun and FloraSun bulbs.
As far as hydro -vs- soil, my limited experience with hydro showed it did grow fast and bushy, but when things went wrong, they went wrong FAST....like overnight I lost it all. So, it's been soil for me since.
