good luck or a bit suspicious

I recently purchased a pack of regular serious ak47, sprouted them all with 100 percent germination

the plants are currently 7 days into flower and every single one is clearly female.

Is it possible I received feminsied seeds? 11 seeds all female is a bit sus to me, I purposely bought regular as prefer them to feminised plants.

seeds where purchased from herbies?

Ya I actually had something similar the run I got going now reg seeds started 8 and ended up with 7 females what sucks is I ran out ta space BC never expected such a ratio of female to male its eef a good thing but being I know no one else who grows I had to pick best 5 and kill 2 females it was really hard to do but the tent was just to crowded and felt i d rather have 5 big healthy ladies than seven that had parts all covering others and possibly jepordizing the out come of some so in other words I hope u got space for em all BC generally wit regs which I prefer too over fem I start more than I plan to have flower u know good luck man

Just curious as to why you like regs over femmed?

It doesnt work for my situation but many folks prefer to run reg seeds believing that the females from the reg seeds may tend to run more stable than feminized seeds with a less likelihood to hermie during flower.

I guess it would also be a plus that you can make your own seeds from that point on. Just have to make the initial investment and keep the very best male to dust your best girls with :P

I have heard that regs have less pheno's but have no clue how genetics work in that regard. Knock wood but I have never had a hermie and grown only femmed strains. Trying to find the perfect clone, its an elusive goal lol.

Yeah.........I was kinda pissed this year I germinated 12 seeds all 12 popped lost one during
Transplant and out of the remaining 11 there were no males I was wanting to make seed but there's always next year. I quickly got over being pissed when I thought about all the fine bud coming my way.

As for the genetics component, it simply depends on whether or not the fem seeds are made with pollen from an identical clone as the female that is pollinated. If identical clones are used then the genetic variation and subsequent variation in phenotypes is more limited. BTW you will still have variation, there are just less potential combinations to be made. If regular seeds are made OR if the female used to make pollen is not genetically identical to the female that is pollinated then there will be a larger variation in phenotypes. And FYI hermaphroditic traits are genetic and cannot be "caused" by making femmed seeds but can be expressed under stress if they are present.

just a slice of humor, calm down. :)

Not sure how to articulate exactly how i meant that. Kinda like "SHE'S A WITCH!"

Plus, the parenthetical part was like a disclaimer, indicating that all that "crazy" genetic manipulation might not actually cause anything harmful. Idk. I suppose we'll see. ^^

But i do wonder... what will become of the cannabis if we keep doing "unnatural" things to its genetics?

Its basically breeding to remove undesirable traits. But yes there r things lost that r good for the plants natural survivability. I think on a whole breeding is a good thing due to i like to get really high and grow lots lol.

As everyone has said I prefer regs to fems, never had a reg hermie, I notice more phenos with regs as wekk.

I will have to kill at least one, wasnt planning on so many haha

I had always heard the opposite, that femmed seeds will throw out more pheno's, but again I have no clue. Also I've never had a femmed seed herm (actually had a Dutch Passion strain do it a long time ago). Not arguing about better or worse just that fems work for me and my setup, until I get the mother of all strains to clone lol.

I am wondering if breeders are getting savvy about how to breed their plants so that they throw off more female than male seeds.

IE, picking varieties that are more inclined to provide genetic female traits on their off spring.
