How do you adjust your PH meter?

So I've got like 20 PH meters lol. Every one of them seems to be a little different no mater how I adjust them. Is there any tips of secrets to fine tuning any PH meter or pen? I adjust at the temps it says to adjust at which all seem to be around 77 degrees (25 Celsius ). And also the more I think about it, everytime your dipping it back into the solutions. Arnt you crossing a little bit of that solution over into the other container? I've tried all kinds of ways to do this and it's starting to aggravate me. I wish there was pin point accuracy drip and strip ph adjusters.

U growing in soil manj? Hydro? I can only speak to soil as I am a soil man...I will ph test my soil only occasionally and if it's about right and the plants look nice I'm not about to gaf if the meter is off. Can I ask why it's so important that your meter read 100% accurate? I have on occasion sent my mix to a lab to have it tested and only then am I positive the ph they tell me is 100% right.

I guess I'm anal, lol. I like ACCURACY ON EVERYBING!! I'm in coco. I'm talking about if you wanted to totally recalibate your PH meter and pens. What's the best temp for the solutions your using and does it even mater. My water temp that I water at is always around 69-71 degrees. And I hand water everything.

My guess is water temp doesn't matter when calibrating. I know coco likes a ph that's lower than soil my guess in below 6 but I'm not 100% on that. I know someone will chime in about coco ph. I do not know a method to calibrate ph meters and thought that if u wanted a 100% accurate reading to spend thhe moat u can afford as the ones u buy in the plant stores (maed in china no doubt) are dubious at best.

Only with TDS meters do you fix the tds meter to the temp, best is 15 degree C, not for potential Hydrogen ..only for DWC do you need to be accurate, for soil even coco go with pool Ph tester to give you a rough average $5.00 at your local drugstore

you must use cheap meters. they dont account for the temp one of the reason why there cheaper .so with the cheap ones you do want to make sure the temp of the solution is right or you wont get an accurate reading. my advise is buy a better meter the 50 dollar oakton works great

I got the Oakton in yesterday and OH MY GOD!! This thing is the bomb!! I read up on it while I was waiting and it's nothing like what I was reading. It came with batteries. And I checked the calibration before I used it and it was SPOT on in the calibration solution. I conditioned it for about two hours in 7.00 solution first and when I compared it to my $150.00 Hanna unit I was blowed away. It's fast! Accurate and simple to use. Thanks so much for recommending this unit. I'm an Oakton believer now. Peace.
