whats up everybody. we finally upgraded our lighting to 600 watts, air cooled. i got an inline fan, 250cm, off of ebay and hooked it up to my light but i really dont think this is going to be enough to cool the light. heres the link. the pic is very deceiving. the blades on it look metal but are infact plastic. eBay: 6" INLINE FAN for AIR COOLING GROW LIGHT REFLECTOR hps (item 7769304481 end time Apr-18-07 06:42:02 PDT)
im just not sure. if anyone else has this can you help me out please. thanks.

U know that you could have gotten the exact same thing at home depot for $25.00 right? I know cause i just got one of those. They have 4" and 6". the only thing need is to hook a power cord to it. You can go to any cheap computer store to get one for like 2.99. You just cut the the end that goes into the computer out and match the colors up and your ready to go. You'll probably be saving about $20. I was at home depot buying stuff to build a carbon filter and i came across that fan so i went ahead and bought it. After that i got online and was checking out htg's products and saw the fan for almost double the amount. What a steal!!! I think it would be alright for cooling the lighting because all its doing is sucking hot air out.

You may need a second fan, those types of inline fans may be able to move a lot of air but they have very little static pressure meaning that it really may not have the power to move the air through the reflector. In fact, centrifugal fans are recommended because they have high static pressure.

Not enough cooling. Get a 4" Fantec and hook it up to the exaust side of your light hood. Leave the intake side open. Exaust the hot air to the outside of your grow. Fantech: Inline Duct Fans
he told me if im unhappy he will give me a full refund. i think he has those fantech fans in his store so i will try and get one of those and take of what i owe. i plugged it in and knew immediately it wasnt enough. which one from the list on the page would be the best?
