Sanders wants to promise revenue which doesn't exist yet to veterans for cool points. Burr, not to be outdone, made an ammendment to the bill tying the increases to Iran sanctions. Clearly they both want to create more veterans (wage war).

What a person calls themself and what they actually are is an interesting study. If a person participates in coercion based politics and their goal is not to reduce the coercion, then they are more alike their "opponents" than they care to reflect on.

Hitler called himself a socialist but privatized Germany's economy. The same can be said of Musolini. Thomas Jefferson wrote "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal ", but owned slaves and preserved the institutional racism used to justify it.
