Cottonseed Meal is a great choice for dry organic fertilizer and here is why. Cottonseed Meal is an natural fertilizer that is made during cotton seed oil production. It is a true organic fertilizer 6-2-1. It 100% pure, there are no added fillers, extenders, animal waste and it is chemical free

This is a premium, natural, slow-release fertilizer that can be used alone or with other natural fertilizers. It contains 6% nitrogen, 2% phosphoric acid, and 1% potash. These nutrients are released slowly and therefore are available for extended periods of time. It may be applied in liberal amounts because it will not burn leaves and resists losses by soil leaching. The natural matter it provides improves soil texture and helps conserve soil moisture. During dry weather and in low rainfall areas, water sufficiently to keep the soil moist around roots. Light, frequent watering tends to prevent deep, efficient rooting and should be avoided. A minimum of one-half to one inch of water should be applied at each irrigation.

I believe it's rather acidic too.......so be aware and use other products that are alkaline to offset for a neutral pH....

Cotton is not a food crop, and therefor is one of the most heavily sprayed (pesticides) crops. There are many other options such as alfalfa meal, kelp meal, neem seed meal, etc that provide the same micro/macro nutrients and minerals and don't carry with them that same risk. Not saying that cottonseed meal is bad per se, just that there are other (possibly better) options.

I am currently cooking my first batch of super soil and i could not get the blood meal.the store i goto does not sell it. so the grow store employee recommended to use cotton seed meal as a replacement. He also recommended to use this bone char product in place of the guano .its been cooking for three weeks now.i did a test of ph and npk and the test results looked like it was ready to use....im still gonna wait another three weeks to use it,but i noticed its not getting a soil web on it. It did have alot of activity and all the sudden just seemed to stop producing heat inside and no web activity bigger than the size of a niblet of corn ....did i mess up by replacing the blood meal and the guano the ratios were pretty good on the test results high nitrogen medium phos and medium pot. Ph was stable at 7 any thoughts anyone that has experience with these products have an opinion on this i would love to hear it. Not meaning to hijack a thread or anything like that this was the only thread with cottonseed meal in the name and i am quite new here

its made from the seeds not the cotton. Like neem seed meal and alfalfa seed meal.

It's possible to find (actually) organic cottonseed meal. Never used it though...
